Marlène Benquet is a research fellow at the CNRS, member of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences (Irisso). She is sociologist and political scientist. She works on finance, modes of accumulation, the financialization of work, political life and the end of life.

She is notably the author of Alt-Finance. How the City of London Bought Democracy (with Théo Bourgeron, Pluto Press 2022), Accumulating Capital Today Contemporary Strategies of Profit and Dispossessive Policies, (Routledge, 2020), La finance autoritaire. Vers la fin du néolibéralisme (with Théo Bourgeron, Editions du Seuil, Raisons d’agir, 2020), Encaisser. Enquête en immersion dans la grande distribution (La Découverte, 2015) and Les Damnées de la caisse. Grêve dans un hypermarché (Éditions du Croquant, 2011).

Member of the thematic pole "Political Sociology of the Economy" of IRISSO. Representative of IRISSO in the House of Finance of Paris Dauphine.Co-manager of the master Institutions Organizations Economy and Society (Dauphine, Mines Paris Tech, EHESS).
